Yanesen Stroll
A stroll through the Yanaka, Nezu, and Sendagi traditional downtown area. Walk leisurely through old shopping streets, temples and shrines, and the cat-filled alleyways.
Yanesen, which takes its name from the first letters of Yanaka, Nezu, and Sendagi, is a precious area in Tokyo rich with old downtown charm. At Yanaka Ginza Shopping Street, you can enjoy eating prepared foods and sweets while strolling, and the sunset view from Yuuyakedandan is spectacular. There are many seasonal highlights such as the azalea festival at Nezu Shrine and the cherry blossom-lined street in Yanaka Cemetery. The alleyways are full of cats, and time flows leisurely. With increasing cafes and galleries created from renovated traditional houses, it's an attractive town-walking destination that harmonizes old and new.
