Matsumoto Castle, a National Treasure with Japan's oldest existing five-story, six-level tenshu
Matsumoto Castle, built during the Sengoku period, is Japan's oldest existing five-story, six-level tenshu and is designated as a National Treasure. With beautiful black and white contrast, it is also called the 'Crow Castle,' and its appearance against the backdrop of the Northern Alps is breathtaking. Inside the castle, you can view the historical structure up close while climbing the steep stairs, and the views from the tenshu are also wonderful.
