Minabe Town's Plum Groves and Plum Juice Making

Minabe Town in Wakayama Prefecture is Japan's top plum-producing region and the birthplace of Nanko plums. In February, the Nanbu Plum Grove displays a magnificent landscape with approximately 100,000 plum trees in full bloom. In June, you can experience plum harvesting and try making plum juice and pickled plums with the freshly picked Nanko plums. Large and juicy, Nanko plums are characterized by their small pits and thick flesh.
