Kohokawa-ji is the 3rd numbered station of the Saikoku Sanjusanshо Kannon pilgrimage. The dry rock garden from the Momoyama period that spreads before the main hall is designated as a National Scenic Beauty, and the striking composition with carefully placed large rocks is a must-see. The approach from the great gate to the main hall has a dignified presence and displays even greater beauty during the seasons of cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. It is a serene space where one can feel over a thousand years of history.
