Mt. Mitake's Rock Garden is a valley located at approximately 700m elevation, where clear streams flow between moss-covered giant rocks creating a mystical space. A popular 2-hour hiking course takes visitors up by cable car to the mountaintop, visits Musashi Mitake Shrine, then loops through the Rock Garden. It's cool even in summer, with refreshing negative ion-rich air. There are many highlights including Nanayo Falls and Tengu Rock. The autumn foliage season is particularly beautiful, attracting many hikers.
