Rikugien Autumn Leaves Illumination
Autumn leaves illumination at Rikugien, a nationally designated special scenic spot. The autumn leaves reflected on the water surface create a magical autumn night.
Rikugien is a daimyo garden created by Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu, who gained the trust of the fifth shogun Tsunayoshi, and is designated as a national special scenic spot. During the autumn foliage season, limited-time illuminations are held, and the beauty of the autumn leaves reflected on the pond's surface is among Tokyo's finest. Particularly spectacular is the weeping maple tree right after entering through the main gate, which creates a magical sight when lit up. The time spent enjoying matcha tea in the garden's tea house while gazing at the garden is also exceptional. The spring weeping cherry blossom illumination is also famous.
