Oji Fox Parade and Oji Inari
The Oji Fox Parade held on New Year's Eve. A mystical festival where participants in fox makeup head toward Oji Inari.
Oji Inari Shrine is known as the head shrine of Kanto Inari shrines, and the "Oji Fox Parade" takes place on New Year's Eve night. Participants wear fox makeup and masks, walking in procession with lanterns from Shozoku Inari to Oji Inari. This festival is based on the legend of fox fires from the Edo period and is popular for its mystical atmosphere. For regular sightseeing, highlights include the "wishing stone" within the grounds of Oji Inari, as well as the nearby Otonashi Water Park and the cherry blossoms at Asukayama Park. You can also enjoy the seasonal nature at Nanushi-no-taki Park.
