Cherry Blossom Trees Along Meguro River
One of Tokyo's premier cherry blossom spots where approximately 800 Somei-Yoshino cherry trees cover the river surface. The evening illumination creates a fantastical atmosphere.
The cherry blossoms along Meguro River represent one of Tokyo's most iconic sakura viewing spots, with approximately 800 Somei-Yoshino cherry trees lining a 3.8km stretch from Ohashi to Shimo-Meguro. When in full bloom, the cherry trees extend their branches toward the river surface, creating a tunnel over the water, and when the petals begin to fall, flower rafts fill the entire river. Evening illumination with paper lanterns creates a fantastical atmosphere. The surrounding area is filled with stylish cafes and restaurants, making it a classic way to enjoy hanami by strolling along the riverside with drinks in hand.
