The Iya Gorge continues as a V-shaped valley with a depth of 200 meters. The view from the Little Pee Boy statue standing on the cliff is spectacularly thrilling.
The Iya Gorge in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture is a V-shaped valley reaching a depth of 200 meters, carved by the Iya River, a tributary of the Yoshino River. The Little Pee Boy statue standing atop the sheer cliff is named after an old anecdote of local children and travelers testing their courage here, and the view from its base is thrilling. In autumn, the entire valley is wrapped in fall foliage, creating a spectacular contrast with the emerald-green mountain stream. Counted as one of Japan's three great secluded regions, it is a scenic spot where pristine nature remains.
