Nasu: Exploring Places Connected to the Imperial Family

Nasu is home to an imperial villa of the Japanese Imperial Family, part of which was opened to the public in 2011 as "Nasu Heisei-no-mori" (Nasu Heisei Forest). This vast forest of approximately 560 hectares contains pristine forests of beech and mizunara oak trees. On guided walks, visitors can stroll through the forest while listening to explanations about wild birds and plants. From the Komadomari Falls observation deck, you can admire the famous waterfall known for its autumn foliage. The Field Center also hosts nature study programs. The fresh air of Nasu Kogen and its untouched nature offer a luxurious experience that cannot be found in the city.
