Kanuma・Kuzuu Washi Papermaking Experience

In the Kuzuu district of Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture, you can experience traditional washi papermaking. Using plant fibers such as kozo and mitsumata, skilled artisans provide careful instruction, so even beginners can feel at ease. The handmade washi can be taken home after drying, and you can also create original works by incorporating pressed flowers into the paper. The experience takes about 1 hour and is enjoyable for both children and adults. The surrounding area also features limestone caves and fossil museums, making it an area where you can enjoy both nature and culture simultaneously.
