The strongly acidic hot spring with a pH of around 1.8 has high sterilizing power and is said to be effective for skin conditions. At the public bathhouses frequented by local people, there is a well-established culture of enjoying morning baths from 6 AM, and travelers can also participate casually. Strolling along the Yu River that flows through the hot spring town also has great charm. In winter, diamond dust can sometimes be seen.
