The Old Townscape of Takayama (Sanmachi Street) is a charming street lined with traditional townhouses from when it flourished as a castle town during the Edo period. Along the eaves with rows of timber lattice, sake breweries, miso warehouses, and traditional craft shops line the street, creating an atmosphere as if you've stepped back in time. You can also enjoy eating as you walk, such as Hida beef skewers and gohei mochi.
