Makinohara City is one of Japan's largest tea production areas, characterized by grand scenery with tea fields spreading as far as the eye can see. During the new tea season from April to May, you can experience tea picking, and hand-picked leaves can be finished using traditional hand-rolling techniques. You can bring home the tea leaves you've rolled yourself and brew them at home to enjoy. The program also includes a delicious tea brewing method lesson passed down from local tea farmers.
