The Kawazu cherry blossoms, which bloom annually from early February to early March, are deep pink sakura that herald the arrival of spring earlier than Someiyoshino. The approximately 850 cherry blossom trees lining about 4km along the Kawazu River create a beautiful contrast with the yellow rapeseed flowers, attracting over 1 million flower viewers each year. The nighttime illumination is also magical. The standard course is to warm up at the day-trip hot springs of Kawazu Onsen-go after strolling and enjoy the seafood delicacies of Izu.
