Touro Lake in Shibecha Town is a coastal lagoon with a circumference of approximately 18km, located at the eastern edge of Kushiro Wetlands. Early morning canoe tours offer quiet paddling through a fantastical landscape with morning mist rising over the lake surface. With luck, you may catch glimpses of red-crowned cranes and white-tailed eagles up close. River canoe tours descending from Touro Lake down the Kushiro River offer an abundance of wildlife including sika deer and red foxes along the winding river surface.
