A verdant park stretching east to west through the center of Sapporo. Also renowned as the venue for the snow festival and beer garden events.
Ōdōri Park is an urban park that stretches approximately 1.5 km east to west through the center of Sapporo. Throughout the seasons, major events are held—the Lilac Festival in spring, the Ōdōri Beer Garden and YOSAKOI Sōran Festival in summer, Autumn Fest in autumn, and the Sapporo Snow Festival in winter. In particular, the Sapporo Snow Festival in February is a major event that attracts over 2 million visitors from Japan and abroad, with the spectacular sight of enormous snow and ice statues lined up. There are also corn wagons within the park, and roasted corn has become a symbol of summer.
