The coast of Onjuku Town, Chiba Prefecture is a beautiful white sand beach where Katou Masao, the lyricist of the children's song 'Moon Desert', spent his early childhood and which became the setting of the song. Bronze statues of a prince and princess riding a camel are installed on the coast, popular as a photo spot. At dusk, the silhouette of the statues overlaps with the setting sun sinking into the Pacific Ocean, creating a magical landscape. The adjacent Moon Desert Memorial Hall displays works and related materials by Katou Masao. You can spend peaceful time with a beach walk.
