Okinawan Ingredient Shopping at Makishi Public Market

Makishi Public Market is Okinawa's largest market, known as "Naha's kitchen." The newly renovated market that reopened in 2023 features uniquely Okinawan ingredients such as colorful tropical fish, island tofu, Agu pork, and island shallots. The popular "mochinage" system allows customers to purchase seafood on the first floor and have it cooked at restaurants on the second floor. Vacuum packaging for souvenirs is also available.
