Hand-make your own original shisa while learning from craftsmen in Yachimun no Sato
At workshops around Yachimun no Sato in Yomitan Village, you can experience making shisa, Okinawa's guardian spirits, by hand. This approximately 90-minute course involves kneading clay to shape your own original shisa and painting it in your favorite colors. After firing, it can be shipped to your home. Unglazed shisa can also be taken home the same day, making it perfect for creating memories of your Okinawa trip.
