Oirase Gorge

The Oirase Gorge is a gorge extending approximately 14 km from Konomouth to Yakiyama at Lake Towada, designated as a Special Natural Monument and Natural Monument of Japan. Fourteen waterfalls, including Choshi Falls, are scattered throughout, and the moss-covered rock faces and clear flowing waters create a mysterious landscape. With well-maintained walking trails, visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty of the gorge while walking through pristine forests of beech and maple trees. The fresh greenery of early summer and autumn foliage are especially beautiful, making it a popular destination for photography enthusiasts.
