Ofuna Kannon Temple is known for its White-Robed Kannon statue standing on a hill west of Ofuna Station. The 25-meter-tall Kannon statue, completed in 1960, serves as a landmark of Ofuna and can be seen from trains with its impressive presence. Inside the statue, there are displays of a thousand small Buddha statues and materials commemorating atomic bomb victims. From the temple grounds, you can overlook the townscape of Ofuna, with beautiful cherry blossoms in spring, hydrangeas in early summer, and autumn leaves in fall. While it's a familiar place for locals, it remains a hidden spot for tourists, offering the charm of quiet worship.
