The Ōdorokyō Gorge is a valley carved out by the fierce currents of the Yoshino River over 200 million years through crystalline schist and is designated as a national monument and scenic site. A sightseeing boat cruise of about 30 minutes allows you to view the dramatic rock formations and cliffs towering on both banks up close. In spring, cherry blossoms and fresh greenery color the gorge; in autumn, vibrant fall foliage paints the landscape; and in winter, you can also enjoy snow-covered scenery.
