Naritasan Omote-sandō Traditional Crafts Shopping
Explore Japanese sundries and traditional crafts along the Naritasan Shinshoji Omote-sandō. Exquisite pieces showcasing craftsmen's handiwork such as bamboo crafts and lacquerware.
The Naritasan Shinshoji Omote-sandō is a temple town stretching about 800 meters lined with souvenir shops and restaurants. Along the approach are shops selling traditional crafts from Chiba Prefecture and the Kanto region, including Sawara bamboo crafts, Bōshū fans, and Inba Lake braided cords—exquisite pieces showcasing craftsmen's handiwork. The area also has an excellent selection of Japanese sundries for foreign tourists (hand towels, folding fans, chopsticks), making it a convenient last souvenir stop on the way back from Narita Airport. It's also recommended to purchase local specialties at established eel restaurants and pickle shops.
