Okawara Ichimoku Senbon Sakura

The Ichimoku Senbon Sakura along the Shiraishi River embankment in Okawara Town is one of Tohoku's finest cherry blossom destinations, with approximately 1,200 Somei Yoshino trees planted over 8 km. The row of cherry trees reflected on the river surface against the backdrop of the snow-capped Zao Mountains is a spectacular view, and during the Okawara Cherry Blossom Festival, you can enjoy food stalls and nighttime cherry blossom illumination. Cherry blossom viewing from the riverbank and views from sightseeing boats are equally exceptional.
