Mitake Valley Riverside Walk
Approximately 4km walking path along Mitake Valley on the upper Tama River. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the valley woven together by clear streams, unusual rocks, and autumn foliage.
Mitake Valley in Ome City, Tokyo is one of the most scenic spots in Tokyo, with a well-maintained approximately 4km walking path along the Tama River centered around JR Mitake Station. The valley's scenic beauty, woven together by emerald green clear streams and massive and unusual rocks, is truly impressive. Along the walking path are scattered shops including the Gyokudo Museum of Art, a canoe school, and cafes, where you can leisurely stroll. November during the autumn foliage season is particularly beautiful, and the contrast between the trees dyed in red and yellow and the clear stream is a magnificent view. Summer is also popular as a river swimming spot.
