Dugong at Toba Aquarium

Toba Aquarium in Toba City, Mie Prefecture, is the only aquarium in Japan that keeps and exhibits dugongs. Approximately 1,200 species and 30,000 marine creatures are displayed across 12 zones. Events such as sea lion shows and penguin walks are also popular. During feeding times for walruses and sea otters, you can observe them up close while listening to explanations from the keepers. The aquarium features a free-viewing style with no set route, allowing visitors to thoroughly enjoy the areas that interest them most.
