The Akame 48 Waterfalls in Nabari City, Mie Prefecture, is a scenic area where waterfalls of various sizes line the Takigawa gorge. Walk along the approximately 4km walking trail for about 90 minutes one way, visiting 23 waterfalls centered around the five major falls: Fudo Falls, Senju Falls, Nunobiki Falls, Ninai Falls, and Biwa Falls. In the season of fresh greenery, enjoy the exhilarating experience of walking through tunnels of trees, and in autumn, take in the spectacular views as the entire gorge is painted with autumn colors. The area is also known as a habitat for giant salamanders, and with luck, you might encounter one. It's a forest bathing spot filled with plenty of negative ions.
