Meoto Iwa are two rocks of different sizes located in Ise Futami-ura, connected by a large shimenawa rope as a symbol of matrimonial unity. Around the summer solstice, you can see the sunrise between the two rocks, and this mystical sight captivates many worshippers. Located within the grounds of Futami Okitama Shrine, it is also known as a place of purification before visiting Ise Grand Shrine.
