Mashiko Autumn Pottery Market and Bush Clover Festival
A pottery market and bush clover flowers held in autumn in the Mashiko pottery village. Kanto's largest pottery festival featuring approximately 500 tents.
Mashiko Town in Tochigi Prefecture is a representative pottery village in the Kanto region. The autumn pottery market held every year in early November features approximately 500 tents showcasing works from diverse artists, both young and veteran. The appeal lies in the joy of discovering treasures and purchasing directly from the artists themselves. The Bush Clover Festival held simultaneously around the Mashiko-yaki Kiln Producers Cooperative Sales Center features purple and white bush clover flowers blooming profusely, creating a picturesque landscape. Local food booths offering soba noodles, kenchin-jiru soup, and other dishes are also well-stocked.
