Toji Temple is the head temple of the Shingon Buddhist sect, granted to Kukai (Kobo Daishi), and is registered as a World Heritage Site. The five-story pagoda, standing 54.8 meters tall, is Japan's tallest wooden structure and serves as a landmark of Kyoto. On the 21st of each month, the Kobo Market (Kobo-san) features approximately 1,200 stalls where visitors can enjoy shopping for antiques and handmade items.
