A beautiful cherry tree-lined walking path connecting Ginkaku-ji to Nanzen-ji
Philosopher's Path is a roughly 2km walking route along a canal from Ginkaku-ji to Nanzen-ji, named after philosopher Nishida Kitaro who used to walk here while deep in thought. In spring, about 300 cherry trees bloom magnificently, covering the waterway, and in autumn, the beautiful tunnel of autumn leaves is stunning. Along the way, cafes and small shops are scattered about, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll.
