Special nighttime opening where the World Heritage Site Nijo-jo Castle is enveloped in mystical light. Projection mapping too
At Kyoto's World Heritage Site Nijo-jo Castle, special nighttime openings are held in spring and autumn. The National Treasure Ninomaru Palace and gardens are illuminated, creating a mystical space completely different from the daytime atmosphere. The projection mapping features spectacular video art projected onto the Karamon Gate and castle walls. In spring, cherry blossom illumination, and in autumn, autumn foliage illumination offer different seasonal presentations. This is a separate fee from daytime admission and requires special nighttime entry tickets.
