Iwashimizu Hachimangu, enshrined at the summit of Otokoyama, is one of Japan's three major Hachimangu shrines. The main hall, designated as a National Treasure in 2016, features magnificent brilliantly colored sculptures painted vermillion, donated by Oda Nobunaga. You can reach the mountaintop by cable car, and from the observation deck there is a panoramic view of the Kyoto Basin. This historic shrine, which also appears in the Tsurezuregusa, is known for its blessings of victory and success.
