Walk through 1000 years of history on the Kumano Kodo Nakahechi Route, a World Heritage pilgrimage trail
The Kumano Kodo is a network of pilgrimage trails leading to the Kumano Sanzan (Kumano Hongu Taisha, Kumano Hayatama Taisha, and Kumano Nachi Taisha) and is registered as a World Heritage site. The Nakahechi Route is the central pathway, where walking along the mystical ancient trail with its moss-covered stone pavements and towering cedar trees allows you to experience the same moving journey as pilgrims from 1000 years ago.
