Stargazing Event at Doudaira Astronomical Observatory in Chichibu

Doudaira Astronomical Observatory, located in Tokigawa Town, Saitama Prefecture, is positioned at the summit of Doudaira Mountain at an elevation of 876m in an ideal location with minimal light pollution from the Kanto Plain. Stargazing events held several times a month allow visitors to observe seasonal celestial bodies using a 91cm reflector telescope. The sight of the Milky Way and nebulae in the clear winter air is awe-inspiring, and with expert staff providing explanations about constellations, even astronomy beginners can enjoy the experience. Accommodation facilities (Mongolian-style tents) are also available on-site, making it possible to enjoy the starry sky all night long.
