Tamagashiki Shrine in Kazo City, Saitama Prefecture is an ancient shrine renowned for its great wisteria in the shrine grounds. The wisteria, believed to be over 400 years old, is designated as a prefectural natural monument. From late April to early May, magnificent flower clusters over 1 meter long cascade like a waterfall from the wisteria trellis. The appeal of this location is its serene, less crowded atmosphere compared to Ashikaga Flower Park. An adjacent Tamagashiki Park hosts a wisteria festival featuring local product sales and tea gatherings. Be sure to also try Kazo's famous udon.
