Kawagoe Kashiya Yokocho
An alley lined with over 20 nostalgic candy shops. Both children and adults are fascinated by traditional sweets and rice crackers.
Kawagoe's Kashiya Yokocho is a nostalgic spot where over 20 candy shops line the cobblestone alley. Traditional sweets are displayed, including the famous Japan's longest fu-gashi (95cm), handmade candies, and sweet potato chips. Children can enjoy the fun of clutching small coins and choosing their favorite sweets, while adults can return to their childhood. It's recommended to visit together with other Koedo Kawagoe tourist spots such as the kura-zukuri streetscape and the Bell Tower. Sweet potato sweets are also a specialty of Kawagoe.
