Kamikochi is located at an elevation of approximately 1,500m and is one of Japan's premier mountain resorts. Full of sights to see, including spectacular scenery of the Hotaka Range viewed from Kappa Bridge, the mysterious waters of Taisho Pond, and the clear stream of the Azusa River. Due to private vehicle restrictions, the natural environment is preserved, and you may encounter wild Japanese macaques and serow. The area also offers abundant trekking courses.
