The Beauty of Ritsurin Garden's Daimyo Garden
Ritsurin Garden, a Michelin three-star Special Place of Scenic Beauty. Be captivated by the beauty of a circulating daimyo garden that uses Shiun Mountain as borrowed scenery.
Ritsurin Garden in Takamatsu City is a circulating daimyo garden with 6 ponds and 13 artificial hills set across 750,000 square meters and is designated as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty by the nation. It is one of Japan's representative gardens, having received three stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japan. The view from Engetsu Bridge in the South Garden, which uses Shiun Mountain as borrowed scenery, is magnificent, and the garden changes its appearance with the seasons—plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, lotus flowers, and autumn leaves. Within the garden, you can also enjoy matcha tea and Sanuki Japanese sweets at the Kyakugetsu Pavilion.
