Megijima Island - Onigashima Great Cave

Megijima, just a 20-minute ferry ride from Takamatsu Port, is a small remote island known as the Onigashima from the Momotaro legend. The great cave at the mountain summit extends approximately 400 meters in length, and inside the cave, demon figures and treasures are displayed, creating an experience as if you're exploring the demons' dwelling. Beyond the cave, an observation deck offers spectacular views of the Seto Inland Sea. The island also serves as a venue for the Setouchi Triennale, with contemporary art installations scattered throughout. The port features many photogenic spots including the seagull sculpture "Seagull Parking" and other attractions.
