The Kazura Bridge spanning Iya Gorge, one of Japan's Three Great Hidden Regions, is a primitive suspension bridge woven from the vines of a plant called Sirasawa vine. Stretching 45 meters and suspended 14 meters above the water surface, you can experience a thrilling sensation as the gorge is visible directly beneath your feet. It is a symbol of the Iya region, where legends of Heike clan fugitives remain, and is designated as an Important Tangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan. The surrounding area features the scenic beauty of the Ōboke-Koboke gorges and Iya Hot Spring among many other attractions, making it an area where you can fully experience the hidden wonders of Shikoku.
