Ise Grand Shrine

The solemn Inner and Outer Shrines of Ise Grand Shrine, the spiritual homeland of the Japanese people
Ise Grand Shrine is Japan's most sacred site, consisting of the Inner Shrine dedicated to Amaterasu Omikami and the Outer Shrine dedicated to Toyouke no Omikami. With over 2000 years of history, new shrine buildings are constructed every 20 years through the Shikinen Sengu ceremony. Walking along the approach path surrounded by the sacred forest naturally purifies the heart in this divine space. Strolling and eating in Okage Yokocho is also enjoyable.
