Mashu Lake
Known as the "Misty Mashu Lake," a mysterious caldera lake boasting extraordinary transparency.
Mashu Lake is a caldera lake located in Akan Mashu National Park, known for having recorded the world's second-highest transparency after Lake Baikal. With no rivers flowing in or out, the deep indigo lake surface called "Mashu Blue" is mystical. True to its alternative name "Misty Mashu Lake," it is often enveloped in mist, and seeing the lake surface on a clear day is considered fortunate. From the 1st and 3rd observation decks, one can see at a glance Mount Mashu and Kamuishu Island, a small island on the lake, and the emotion of the moment when the mist clears is beyond measure.
