Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is a park developed to convey the tragedy of the atomic bombing on August 6, 1945, and to pray for world lasting peace. It features the World Heritage Atomic Bomb Dome, Peace Memorial Museum, Memorial Cenotaph for the A-bomb Victims, Peace Flame, and other monuments, attracting over 1 million visitors annually from around the world. The museum features exhibits conveying the actual conditions of the atomic bombing, and in the main building renovated in 2019, visitors can learn about the importance of peace through the possessions and testimonies of A-bomb survivors. A peace memorial ceremony is held every August 6.
