Hidaka Thoroughbred Road

The Hidaka region is a major horse breeding area where about 80% of Japan's racehorses are produced. The driving course known as Thoroughbred Road offers pastoral scenery of descendants of famous horses leisurely grazing beyond ranch fences. At Riding Hills Shizunai in Shinhidaka Town, you can experience horseback riding, and at the Hall of Excellent Horses you can learn about the history of famous racehorses. The cherry blossom-lined Nijukken Road is also a must-see spot.
