The Matsuyama streetcar system operates the 'Botchan Train,' a restored steam locomotive that appears in Natsume Soseki's novel 'Botchan.' The charming sight of the small locomotive running through the city is very popular with tourists. It operates on a route connecting Dogo Onsen and Matsuyama Castle, allowing visitors to enjoy Matsuyama sightseeing with the feeling of having traveled back to the Meiji era.
