Senyuji Temple, located in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, is an ancient temple known as the 58th sacred site of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage. Situated on the hillside of Sendan-yama at approximately 300 meters above sea level, the observatory within the temple grounds offers expansive panoramic views of the bridges and scattered islands of the Shimanami Kaido, as well as the magnificent Seto Inland Sea. The beauty at sunrise and sunset is particularly exceptional, making it a popular photography spot that attracts many photographers. The temple is a historically significant place said to have been founded by imperial decree of Emperor Tenji, and the grounds include lodging facilities (shukubo) for pilgrims. It's a place where visitors can spend peaceful moments purifying their hearts in tranquility.
