Magnificent Views of Sada Misaki in Imata Town
View the Bungo Channel and Kyushu from Sada Misaki, the westernmost point of Shikoku. The dynamic landscape of Japan's narrowest peninsula.
Located at the westernmost point of Shikoku, Sada Misaki in Ehime Prefecture's Imata Town sits at the tip of Japan's narrowest peninsula. From the cape, with the Bungo Channel in between, you can see Saga Seki in Oita Prefecture, and on clear days, even glimpse the mountains of Kyushu. The walking path to the lighthouse is approximately 1.8km one way, and strolling while viewing the sea on both sides offers an exceptional sense of openness. The windmills lining the peninsula's ridge are also spectacular, making it a spot that invites reflection on Japan's energy future.
