Fukuroda Falls: Four Seasons of Spectacular Scenery
One of Japan's three famous waterfalls. A magnificent natural landscape featuring a grand waterfall 120m high and 73m wide cascading down in four tiers.
Fukuroda Falls is a famous spot counted among Japan's three great waterfalls, standing 120m high and 73m wide. It is also called "Yodo no Taki" (Four-tier Falls) because it flows down the rock face in four stages. The power of the waterfall viewed up close from the observation deck beyond the tunnel is truly spectacular. It shows different faces throughout the four seasons: fresh greenery in spring, coolness in summer, autumn foliage in fall, and frozen ice falls in winter. The winter ice falls, where the entire waterfall freezes into a mystical sight, are particularly famous as a renowned ice climbing destination.
